The drawings are of the marsh and island at the end of what used to be a short estuary here in North Norfolk. They are a balance of sky, horizon and creek.
I have been drawing the more complicated creeks beside the fishermans’ sheds in the harbour here where lines are more angular, criss-crossing to infer the more complicated relationship between the natural landscape and human activity.

The island is real and vibrant, full of multiple dynamics that make it an exciting place to visit. But in the end it is its fragility that makes it so appealing.
It is a place made up of little; just sand, air and water, stirred up by relentless combinations of weather, season, time and tide.
